The soft pitch and cold windy conditions for the home team Illaroo did not prove to be an advantage for them today. It was a physical game and a close contest in the first half with Sonny making a great save to deny them taking an early lead. Callum, David and Nate all scored to make it a close 3-2 at half time.

After Coach Kelly gave the team an inspiring half time pep talk, the Panthers took complete control of the game and overwhelmed their opponents with a 7 - 0 second half score line. All in time for a late arrival from Coach Paul! Now they really started playing as a team and attacking the ball. Archie scored an impressive and well deserved hat-trick. Jordy enjoyed being out of goals and showed his talent out on the field with a goal, and David scored a cracker from a long range free kick. Tight passing and an excellent cross set up Bailey for his second goal in as many days. Jacob, Mitchell, Bede and David were resolute in defence in keeping the opposition goalless in the second half. Christian, Bailey, Sonny and Callum dominated the mid-field and provided great service to the forward line. Tully scored her first goal for the season right on full time, to ice the game and bring the final score 10 - 2. This result puts U11 Black in 3rd position with two rounds to go before the semis, where they face off against the top two teams.
